Abstract
Eosinophilic gastroenteritis is a rare disorder of unknown origin that is pathologically characterized by marked infiltration of eosinophils in the wall of gastrointestinal tract with gastrointestinal symptoms such as abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, and rarely ascites. Eosinophilic gastroenteritis is often classified according to layer of the bowel wall involved. Although its pathogenesis and natural course is not well defined, the main core of treatment issteroid administration with or without surgery. We experienced a case of eosinophilic gastroenteritis with recurrent small intestinal obstruction, which showed improvement after surgery and conservative management such as NPO and hydration with steroid
